Klonopin Klonopin is a trade name for clonazepam, a highly potent anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant and anxiolytic benzodiazepine derivative. There are a number of clonazepam side effects, so it is prudent to know them, as well as the proper clonazepam dosage and other clonazepam inormation before taking this drug.

Default Just what is Klonopin?

I've heard about this drug, I think my brother was prescribed this once and see it in our medicine cabinet when I was younger. But what is it for?

Klonopin is the brand name of clonazepam, a type of benzodiazepines. It affects the brain's chemicals and is a potent anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, and anxiolytic.

It is manufactured by Roche.

What is Klonopin used for? If it's made by Roche, then it has to have some significant use.

Is this drug employed as an anti-psychotic agent? Or am I confusing it with a different drug used to treat schizophrenia?

Well, it's mainly on the market to treat seizure or panic disorders.

I was on Klonopin for a while. It`s an anti anxiety drug. The generic form I think. I switched to Valium.

People with liver problems are advised not to take Klonopin. Also if you're allergic to clonazepam and benzodiazepines, pregnant, have glaucoma, breathing problems or depression.

This is rather alarming. it seems that two students at Volunteer High School in Tennessee were arrested after 21 Klonopin pills were found in their possession. A third student was rushed to the hospital due to apparent overdose!

Hate-crime suspect pleads guilty to drug charges

THIBODAUX - A man accused of orchestrating a series of hate crimes against white inmates in the Lafourche Parish jail will soon be moved to a state prison after pleading guilty to drug-distribution charges.

Terry Wheaton, 44, of 645 St. Louis St., Raceland, received a 20-year prison sentence Thursday after pleading guilty to charges of distribution and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine before ad hoc Judge Robert Klees of St. Bernard Parish.

Wheaton also pleaded guilty to two additional counts of possession of cocaine. He received five years for each count, which will run concurrent, or at the same time, as his 20-year sentence.

Wheaton allegedly acted as the ringleader of three attacks between March 10-13 that left three white inmates unconscious, according to police. Eleven inmates, including Wheaton, were charged with hate crimes and second-degree simple battery. Wheaton's case on those charges is pending.

Sherrick Every, a 21-year-old Thibodaux man accused of participating in the jailhouse beatings remains at large.

Wheaton's guilty plea not only ensures a dangerous drug dealer will be kept off the parish's streets for a lengthy time, but it also means he won't have any more opportunities to wreak havoc inside the Lafourche jail, Sheriff Craig Webre said.

"Terry Wheaton has been a disturbing force at the Detention Center, instigating more than one action against inmates and our officers" Webre said. "We've already made arrangements to transfer him to the care and control of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, where Mr. Wheaton will find it much more difficult to cause problems."

Wheaton's guilty pleas resulted from three separate drug arrests that occurred between November 2007 and November 2008. He posted bond following the first two arrests to receive a release from jail.

The drug charge that ultimately netted him 20 years in prison came from an undercover operation executed by the Lafourche Drug Task Force on March 27, 2008.

On that day, narcotics agents witnessed Wheaton attempting to make crack cocaine on a stove inside 214 W. 5th St. in Larose. A search of Wheaton's pants yielded 48 Klonopin pills and 11.2 grams of crack cocaine, according to agents.

Police seized a total of 14 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $1,400 during his three drug-related arrests between November 2007 and November 2008, Sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt. Lesley Hill-Peters said.
