I have been taking Effexor for about a year and a half, and recently per my psychiatrist's recommendation, came off of them. While I quit cold turkey, I was on prozac during for a period of 3 weeks before quitting Effexor, and then continued taking the prozac for another 3 weeks. My psych's experiences with this has shown that it greatly minimizes withdrawal effects for those coming off effexor in this way.

When I quit the effexor during the prozac period, everything was fine. I experienced some lightheadedness for 2-3 days but that went away. When I then finished up the prozac, things were also pretty much non existent in terms of effects. That was at the beginning of October.

About 2-3 weeks ago, I started experiencing some odd feelings in my head and kind of throughout. I've heard the 'brain zaps' reference several times when it came to Effexor withdrawal and I'm not sure if this is or isn't what I'm experiencing. The sensations seem random, but usually related to intense movement. Sitting for extended periods of times doesn't really cause it. I've primarily noticed it shortly after getting up, and moving around. And it's usually more prominent in the evening time than during the day. The best way to describe the sensation is to think of the state one experiences when getting startled, and reducing that to a fraction of a second. It's usually isolated just to my head.

I've spoken with my psych and he's never heard of anything like this, but thinks it's unrelated to SSRI withdrawal (I think it is though). I have several questions regarding this:

1.) How long does this last? I really do not want to be experiencing this for longer than a few more weeks as it's more frustrating than anything. It's not 'unbearable' but it is quite discomforting and really makes me feel out of my element the majority of the time (lucid is a good way to describe it). More importantly, will this go away?

2.) Considering I've been off Effexor since labor day (so about 2 months) and Prozac (about one month) is this likely related to that? I've never experienced this before in my life.

3.) What options can I take to eliminate or reduce this until it goes away? I am not interested in going back on Effexor to get rid of a symptom that came about coming off of it. I suppose tapering could have reduced this, but since I'm already at a point of having been off it for 2 months and this is the only side effect I'm really experiencing, I'd rather stay away from the cause rather than resort to going back to what caused it in the first place.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hate this feeling!

About 36 hrs ago i tried opiates for the first time. I took 4 10mg/500mg hydrocodone pills. It did not go well. After about 5 hrs i began vomiting and feeling nauseous. After about 20 hrs i stopped vomiting but i began getting chills, i had an abdominal cramp, i was restless, and i had joint and muscle pain. Like i said its been 36 hrs and most of these symptoms are gone except i feel a little hungover. From what i've read, all my symptoms after 12 hrs are consistent with withdrawal from opiates. Is it possible to feel withdrawals after only taking them once? or did i happen to get a weird virus coinciding with my trip? I am new at this so any answers are welcome. thanks

OK 12 step treatment for alcohol and drug addictions. I would like to hear what peoples opinions are on this, from people with personal experience with it, possibly being themselves, a family member,or a friend, to people with no experience with it, maybe just from what you might have heard. Do you feel that it is a positive treatment for people struggling with addiction, does it work, could it possibly be harmfully, are there better ways for a person to overcome an addiction, in what ways do you feel a person should try to overcome an addiction. Do you feel addiction is a disease like the 12 treatment industry suggest? I would like to hear intelligent opinion from people whatever your stance might be on this issue. What I don't want to hear is stupid things like "rehab is for quitters" or other such nonsense. I have my own opinions on this that I will hold back on until I get some feedback from other people so as to not persuade or discourage anyone's opinions

hey i would like some advice. I like exercising.. but i just want to know if this is normal or not...

i've found skipping a good way to exercise. At first it used to be three times a week.. but it started doing myself good! i've never been happy with my body image... thinking i'm fat compared to my friends.. i'm 5ft 7 and was a size 12. I found exercising and cutting out junk food helped to lose weight. i knew it was working, but i stepped it up to work faster.. i now exercise everyday, and i like to burn 900- 1000 calories on my skipping rope.. this is like an hour and a half a day. i dont do it in one hit. I go out every so often burn 100 then go back in. I'm not sure if this is okay? my friends think it's too much. When i eat something like chocolate i feel so guilty i go outside and skip it off or if ive burn 900 calories that day i think it's okay to eat chocolate it's already been burnt off!

any advice would be great... it's starting to take over.. i spend most of my time in the garden now! It used to be me fitting skipping in my life, now its almost like i'm fitting my life in with the skipping! i'm now a size 8-10 and weigh about 9 stone 3. But i can't stop! i still think i'm fat.

Hi everyone
Mr Dr had told me that I could take 2 tablets of my Wellbutrin SR 100mg at the same time, making it 200mg. I read other places on the internet that you shouldnt take more than 150mg in a single dose. Anyone take more than 150mg of SR in a single dose? I took the 2 100mg tablets yesterday at the same time and I felt better than usual, but now I am scared of having a seizure.

Thanks

Adderall Street Procurement

I have been quite irresponsible with my adderall and finished it early as is so common for people to do with this drug. Anyways, I am aware of how crippling the withdrawals can be and have made the decision to procure some more in order to wean myself off. (of course that’s the plan at least) I have never bought this shit however from anyone not wearing a lab coat behind a counter and was wondering if I could get some advice.

My questions:

How much should I pay? I’m looking to buy 300mg 20mg non XR tablets. Is it realistic to find it in the form I’m looking for? Is $3 for 10mg normal for the quantity I’m buying, or does quantity matter with adderall.

And will I get different prices in different places.

Where should I go to get it? What type of people have it? --- Of course I know universities and college kids are good, but what about downtown? I live in a city of over 1 million people. I’ve bought bud downtown its pretty straightforward. But how is it with adderall? Is it even available downtown where you guys live? And if so what types of people are these who are selling it? Like I can’t imaging buying adderall off some G’d up black guy (not trying to be racist, just get point across. I’m half black myself, don’t let the name Igor fool ya) or are these middle class white dudes? Or can you even buy it downtown?

If I get it from the university-What time of day would be best to go? Should I ask around on campus, or off, maybe by the frats or by the bars?

Anything other advice you can offer me would be great.

I was on 150mg twice a day for almost a year... but when I changed Dr he changed the dose to 300mg once a day only I did not remember him telling me that and I continued to take it twice a day for almost 6 weeks before I realized it... thank God I did not have a seizure... but I did realize that my behavior was totally out of character for me… I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
