Sometimes if I do something I will think I have to do it a certain way or in a certain amount of time, like I have to make it up the stairs in 10 steps (there are 21 steps) or I have to hold my breath for 1 minute... IDK examples like that.

Do you consistently have to do this? What's your motivation? Do you do this more frequently when you're stressed or feel like you've done or thought something wrong?
I obviously can't diagnose you, but these are some questions to consider. You should see a psychologist if you think you may have a disorder that is interfering with your functioning or well-being. |

Those sound like some symptoms. I also have OCD. I have to touch something a certain amount of times or with each finger. I have many other things I have to do too. It`s like if I don`t do it something bad will happen. I hate it too. Definitly see a doctor. I didn`t go to a special doctor. I just asked my primary care doctor about it.

This brings to mind a few things that I used to do but I guess "grew" out of the habit and no longer do them. I would call your doctor and discuss it just in case. Especially if it's getting in the way of your normal, everyday life.
