Whats the function/use of sawdust in mushroom cultivation?
i heard its just to give bulk to the substrate used for the growth of mushroom. are there any nutritional values in it that help the growth of mushroom? thanks!

Whats the function/use of sawdust in mushroom cultivation?
no nutritional value at all , as the sawdust rots it actualy draws nutrients from the surrounding dirt.
it is used as you say to give bulk/humous to the substrate and absorb excess moisture which may allow other fungi than the mushrooms to thrive.
