| Cigarettes Cigarette smoking is one of the most widespread of all vices. Each year 5.5 trillion cigarettes are produced globally and consumed by more than 1.1 billion cigarette smokers. Clearly anti-smoking campaigns are not enough to keep children and loved ones safe from cigarette addiction. |

I was addicted to chew for over 4 years. I loved it so much i did not want to
quit. But i knew i had to for Jesus and myself. I became more informed on the Holy spirit and how he could help me. One day i was doing my monthly clean out of about 30 tobacco tins from my room. I got on my knees and asked the Lord to remove all nicotine from my body. Then i asked him to deliver me from this addiction. I thanked him and took my full tins and started yelling at them "in Jesus name you will not hold me in bondage anymore!!! curse you! BE GONE EVIL CHEW IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!" as i flushed the tobacco down the toilet. AN important thing i did after that was ask the Holy Spirit to fill in the empty spot where the chew had left. If your used to something being there and its gone you usually have feelings of emptiness in that area. So it is important that you ask the holy spirit to "fill that void" Hope that helps. Who ever need prayer just let me know! Bless you Gods children!

Its desperation time for me too. The dreaded habit of mine has already cost me too many people and finally I want to put an end to all this. Initially I was not sure how to approach the process so I decided to look at the methods other people have successfully incorporated to make themselves quit.
Your lord was generous in your case I do not know if the same can happen in my case too. I understand its all about mind over matter but I simply cant make ways to distract my mind from tobacco.

That's a good one; unfortunately, it would work only if you are a Christian. I bet atheists, agnostics, and the rest would need a different method. What you did would be simply called "positive affirmations" in the secular world. Yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises (also called pranayama) help addicts get rid of their habit.

Winoomgmg, that is wonderful for you. I hope you don't let discouragement from people with no faith deter your journey. Until people have a personal encounter with Jesus, they will always doubt and downplay what He only can do.

You can quit regardless of whatever religion you are, it comes down to simples chemical processes in the body. I remember when I smoking heavily I could feel 30 seconds after I started smoking how my arteries were shrinking and my blood pressure started to rise.
I could feel my heart beating in my chest faster and faster as it tried to keep up with the damage the cigarettes were doing to my cardiovascular system. I though I was going to have a heart attack so many times. That was all it took for me. |
