Is it a bad idea to take Lunesta, followed by 2 energy drinks and a 5 hour energy shot within the next 4 or 5 hours?
I realize that is stupid, and completely pointless...but say I mixed up what I took in my rush out the door, and need to stay functional... |

Isn't lunesta a sleeping aid? Why would you take a sleeping aid with energy drinks that are designed to keep you awake? Well what happened when you took both of these together. From a lighted hearted standpoint I would say that both of these items cancel each other out, but on the serious side I would think that this combination would wreck havoc on your central nervous system over the long run.

I think I would stay home and sleep it off. As far as then energy drinks are concerned, I don't mess around with that stuff. I will drink coffee or tea but anything else, I avoid completely. I try to stay as far from any substance as much as possible. I won't even take anything stronger than Tylenol for pain. I refuse and just tough it out. I think back on the times I was addicted heavily and I don't want to get back into that situation at all.

I would go nuts on an energy drink. My meds do make me sleepy but caffeine or energy drinks are a no no for me. That would be like me taking speed. I have had talks with my kids about those energy drinks. I have read an awful lot of things about how bad they are for these kids to drink.

I agree with Zen. I don't think caffeine in energy drinks is enough to cancel the effects of a more potent drug like Lunesta. In fact, people are advised not to take Lunesta if they are going to drive, or do things outside the home. There have been instances when people find themselves unable to remember what they did.

Lunesta can impair your thinking or reactions. So you better test out the drug first before you take it, to know what effect it has on your body. Some people are still very drowsy the morning after they take the drug.

Also, you are advised not to drink alcohol when you take Lunesta, that is because it can amplify the effects of alcohol.

Why would anyone drink energy drinks with Lunesta? That's something short of insane.
