Default Bone fracture and Morphine

Just last month my brother in law fallen on the stairs and broke his wrist. Fractured... open reduction/internal fixation, put two metal clip. The two wires stayed there for almost 2 months but it is the pain that is intolerable. He has given morphine 15 mg every 4 hours. He is recovering now but still needs morphine from time to time.
