| Sex Addiction Compulsive need or desire to have sex, masturbate, or to participate in one-time sexual affairs, regular use of prostitutes, voyeurism or just obsessively thinking about sex are just some of the symptoms of a person suffering from a sex addiction. |

At what point should someone begin to question whether or not they might have a sex addiction problem? Could anyone give examples?

I think if sex is affecting your life , your job, your family, or your health, you should see a specialist. I think it is very dangerous to sleep with a large number of people, especially if it is unprotected sex.

I find it hard to believe that there is such a thing. It has been in the media lately with people like Russell Brand and David Duchovny going into rehab because of it but doesn't it sound a little like publicity seeking? When did we hear about it before?

It does sound as if it might be a publicity stunt, although it sounds more like bad publicity to me. How would that help their career?

I can't see how it would help their career, especially if they had deals with sponsors and similar things like that.

I think sex addiction is too much when you just want to have sex for no reason at all.

hmmmn... you have just branded 99% of the world's population as sex addicts.

I agree that if it already interferes with your life, then you should seek help. However, being sexually promiscuous is not in itself a sign of addiction.

I have heard about Duchovny going into rehab. But I don't think it's publicity seeking any more than Jaime Lee Curtis going public with her addiction for pain relief.
