inspiration and motivation to change for better is a good factor to consider if you want something new with your life. but its not good also just to change for somebody pushes you to changed, its definitely own will for changes.

i agree, changing matters if its your own will, not because others want you to change for a reason..just be yourself and think the people you love and maybe check, listen to yourself..but good part that you can hear ideas from others too..

hi there.

I think it's a combination of both. Remember that addiction is a psychological as well as a physical malady, to overcome it, you need a real sense of discipline. You need to have a strong will. But for that to happen, there must be some sense of purpose to. A decision to change for the better is solidified by someone or something that spurs us to action. And that's where inspiration comes in.

I agree with what all of you said. And inspiration doesn't have to come with a girlfriend, it could be your mom, your kids, your community, or it could be your own desire to get out of your addiction and finally take charge of your life.

As a former addict myself, my own turning point came when I found religion and God. I am not advocating this for everyone, to each his own right? But I found that when you have a whole community of people supporting you, watching you, encouraging you, it's easier to make yourself better!

That sounds good. It would also help if his family and friend like you will continue to support him.

My brother had drug problem for at least 10 years.
He used the heavy stuf like cocaine and other stuff I don't even know of.

The doctor gave him medication to clean his system, and he has been sober for 2 years.
