What about Corticosteroids?

This is mostly used (that many hear about) for Trigger point injections. I have had some myself after a bad car wreck and I was wondering, for those who end up having pain killer addictions, do they (or can they) start from something like this?

I am just thinking about this myself as I know someone who gets something similar done, I think its one step higher than a TPI but I can not remember the name of it. This same person is the one that I have mentioned before on the site who also has been known to be a "pill popper".
