Smoking

I have several issues going on including PTSD that is still ongoing. I've been sober and off drugs for about 17 years now. I don't drink alcohol but I still smoke. I figure it's the best of several options but now my doctor is wanting me to stop smoking for my health issues. I don't know if I can manage it. I still want drugs every day even though I have been stone cold sober. What do I do? Should I try to quit smoking? I know it's my last crutch but I really do need to quit.
